The Staff

Linda Goode Bryant, Executive Director came up with the idea for ACP while filming a documentary on the 2004 Elections. The people listed below helped create it.

Ms. Bryant is a filmmaker who makes social issue documentaries and experimental short videos. She co-produced and directed Flag Wars (2003), a cinema verité documentary nominated for a 2004 Emmy. She is a 2004 Guggenheim Fellow and Peabody Award winner. Prior to filmmaking, Bryant worked as a management consultant in Strategic Planning and Organization Development. She was founding Director of Just Above Midtown, Inc., a New York City non-profit interdisciplinary artists’ space that supported new work by emerging visual, video, and film artists, choreographers, musicians, writers, and performance and theater artists. She received her B.A. at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and a Masters Degree in Business from Columbia University in New York City.

Steve Dooley, Community Outreach Director is committed to the idea that "there is no way to peace, peace is the way." At ACP he works on a variety of projects, but focuses primarily on Open Caucus. Steve's prior professional experience comes from his four years at ACORN, where he worked on grassroots community organizing projects in low and moderate income communities in Washington, DC and Dallas/Ft. Worth. In 2006 and 2007, Steve and his partner Liz took off for a "year of living" and traveled throughout North and South America before moving to Brooklyn and jumping into action at ACP. Steve has a B.A. in International Relations from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

Shaneequa Parker, Intern lives in Queens, NY where she is currently studying for her Bachelors Degree in Human Services at Metropolitan College of New York. She has been with ACP since early 2006 and works on every aspect of ACP. A life long Brooklynite (until recently!), Shaneequa hopes to eventually move to Georgia and pursue a Master's in Social Work or Public Administration.

Emily Westlake, Intern lives in Brooklyn, NY and is a recent graduate of NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she studied community activism and the media. She spent a semester in Ghana and is interested in photography, writing, veganism and community organizing. At ACP Emily works on blogs, Open Caucus, and photography and research projects.
